Waves of Relief — Because Every Family Deserves a Holiday

At Waves of Relief, we believe that every family deserves the opportunity to relax, reconnect, explore the world, and create beautiful memories together — regardless of the challenges they may face.

 

Our story begins with Janine and Graeme Jones and our son, Andrew, who is on the autism spectrum and has special needs. Although Janine and Graeme are now divorced, we share a family history filled with adventure, travel, and a deep understanding of just how precious those family memories can be.

 

Together, we have traveled to incredible places around the world, including Sailing much of the Caribbean, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and across America. These experiences have given us memories we will treasure forever and have shown us how special it is to discover new places and enjoy time together as a family.

But we also understand that traveling with a child with special needs can bring unique challenges. The planning, additional support, accessibility needs, sensory sensitivities, and uncertainty can make what should be an exciting holiday feel overwhelming. For many families, the challenges and costs can seem so great that a holiday becomes something they can only dream about.  We believe it shouldn't have to be that way.

We created Waves of Relief to help families raising children with disabilities experience the joy, freedom, and connection that a holiday can bring. We want to help ease some of the burdens, open doors to new experiences, and give families the chance to step away from the everyday demands of caregiving and simply enjoy being together.

Because parents and caregivers need a break, too. Because siblings deserve special memories. Because every child deserves the chance to experience something wonderful. And because families who face extra challenges every day deserve moments of joy, peace, and adventure just as much as anyone else.

 

Our hope is to help families create unforgettable experiences, share laughter, discover new places, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
